About me and my therapy practice

I am a professionally qualified and experienced psychotherapist working in a confidential and calm setting. More than ever we need time and space to reflect upon, and make sense of, the disruptions and stresses of life.

I offer open-ended psychotherapy to individuals wishing to reflect on their feelings, thoughts, relationships and beliefs. At Richmond Psychotherapy you will find a calm and comfortable place in which, together, we can create a new sort of space in your life. Although I usually work predominantly face-to-face, it is possible to work online once our relationship has become established and to avoid unnecessary breaks in our work.

Maybe you are thinking of talking to someone because you are currently facing a particular struggle or challenge, or wondering how best to support your mental wellbeing. Perhaps you are simply curious about yourself and the world around you and wondering if there is a deeper, richer life which you are yet to discover. Whatever your reasons for thinking about beginning therapy, you will find a warm, non-judgemental space at Richmond Psychotherapy.

Practice description

I have a professional qualification in psychodynamic psychotherapy from WPF Therapy, following preliminary studies at Regent’s University. This form of therapy finds its roots in the explorations of the unconscious made by Sigmund Freud. I have also been deeply influenced by the life and work of Carl Jung. He had a profound respect for the individual and the wisdom that lies buried within each of us, beyond psychological theories, labels or diagnosis.

Alongside psychotherapy, I have 20 years experience in pastoral and spiritual work. I hold degrees from Roehampton, Oxford and London Universities in the areas of English Literature and Theatre Studies, Theology and Spirituality.

Over the last two decades I have worked with a wide variety of people. I respect diversity and aim to adopt an unbiased and accepting approach when engaging with areas of difference such as ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, class, age, physical ability, culture or nationality. I have worked extensively with those who are training to be counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists.

Please follow the link to my website to find out more about how I work.
