About me and my therapy practice

I work as an Integrative counsellor and supervisor in the Denbighshire area. I can provide a safe and regular space to work in partnership with you to explore, understand and work through difficulties. I am offering face to face, online and telephone  counselling.

My aim is to help you find your own insight into problems, thoughts and feelings you are experiencing in a nonjudgemental and confidential environment. I am an accredited, registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and have 25 years experience working in Primary Care (GP surgeries) and College counselling settings.

I have been a lecturer in counselling since 2000, training students in a range of counselling qualifications. I use an assimilative integrative approach to my work, both as a counsellor and supervisor, which enables me to be flexible to both the needs of my clients and supervisees. I work within the person centred approach using strategies from a spectrum of therapeutic approaches e.g. CBT, Gestalt, NLP, Solution Focused Brief Therapy etc

In the first sessions we work together to assess the problems that you want to deal with and together develop some goals which you would like to achieve by developing a treatment plan. I can help you learn new skills and coping strategies that you can utilise not only in the current situation but that you can adapt to other situations and problems areas in your life.

My first session

Our first session is an informal session to meet with each other to explore ways in which I work to see if you would like to work with me. We will discuss our working contract and the boundaries in which I work. For student counsellors it gives us the opportunity to also look at your course requirements and the modality you are working in to see if the type of Supervision I offer is suitable to your needs. I offer an hourly reduction for students which we can discuss in this session.
