About me and my therapy practiceI am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor.
I have over 20 years experience of working in the public, private and voluntary sector. I specialise in relationship issues, emotional problems, anxiety, loss and depression. I am open minded, warm and friendly.
I believe that the quality of life is important. Committing to therapy is a way of understanding and looking in depth at your emotional well being. Psychodynamic therapy is about trusting your feelings and becoming aware of how they affect your physical and emotional health. It is a way of recognising what is going on in your world and how you can control your life.
During a therapy session we will look at the problems you have brought, as well as the underlying issues. This means that while I listen to what you have said, I am also aware of what is left unsaid. It will enable us to gain insight into your deeper problems.
I am patient and calm, and whatever your reasons for coming into therapy you will find me empathic and non-judgemental. What you say is in absolute confidence and your views and feelings will be respected.
A preliminary assessment will allow you to ask questions and decide whether you feel comfortable with me. There is no obligation to continue with therapy unless you are happy to do so.
