About me and my therapy practice
You may be looking for help in order to make a difficult decision, cope with challenging changes in your life, or make greater sense of who you are in a time of confusion.
My approach to therapy is humanistic and integrative. Humanistic means that I view whatever issues you may have within the context of you as a whole person. This means that the help I offer comes not from applying a formula but from building a relationship between us in which you are able to bring whatever feels relevant to those issues. Integrative is drawing on a variety of perspectives and skills that are consistent with the maintenance of that relationship. I provide a safe, secure, confidential setting where you can explore and resolve troubling issues within a supportive relationship that enables you to work at your own pace.
I have over forty years experience of therapeutic practice within private, educational, commercial and industrial settings. As Director of the Centre for Studies in Counselling at Durham University I have worked extensively in counsellor education both in the UK and abroad.
In addition to my counselling psychotherapy practice I offer supervision for experienced therapists and those working towards BACP Accreditation.
My practice is located in the village of Knipton, near Grantham where I offer long and short term work with the possibility of reduced rates for students.
You can contact me by email or telephone in order to discuss your needs and set up an initial meeting in which we can decide together whether I can help you.
