About me and my therapy practice

There is no single 'right way' to practice psychotherapy. While I have trained primarily in psychodynamic and person-centred therapies, my approach is contemporary, evidence-based and eclectic.

Regardless of treatment modality, the fundamental qualities that tie my work together are compassion for my clients and the knowledge, backed by many years of psychotherapy research, that the most important factor in healing is a safe, caring and collaborative therapeutic relationship.

I hold full qualification (Registered MBACP) as a counsellor and psychotherapist, with a psychodynamic foundation and elements of other proven treatment methods, including cognitive and interpersonal work. In addition to my private work, I practice at Highgate Counselling Centre in London.

My experience includes working with survivors of trauma, neglect and abuse, as well as people troubled by loss, redundancy, relationship difficulties, depression and anxiety, including that related to Covid-19. My background includes working with suicidal people who are in treatment with the NHS.

Practice description

My focus is on helping my clients get to the bottom of issues that are causing them difficulty. When underlying problems are investigated and brought to the surface, clients can more easily deal with them, and that tends to have a strong therapeutic effect.

I offer both open-ended and time-limited therapy.

My practice is primarily in East Finchley, however online therapy is available to those across the UK.

Reaching out for help is not a sign of weakness. Quite the opposite. It shows the strength and desire to overcome and persevere.

It all starts with a conversation.

My first session

We begin with a brief, no-cost conversation by phone or online. An initial consultation, in which we go into more detail about your history, your present situation and why you are seeking therapy, is £70 and conducted either in person or online and takes about an hour. After that, sessions are £70. When I am able, I offer concessionary rates for those who would struggle to pay.
