About me and my therapy practice
I specialise in working one to one with clients facing difficulties in their family relationships. This might be relationship issues or in parenting children.
Being a parent can be difficult and overwhelming. You may be struggling with a new baby, a toddler's tantrums, a challenging teenager who is experimenting in risk-taking behaviour or anxious about your child's wellbeing at home or school. As an adult, some of this difficulty can arise from our own experience of being parented and our childhood history.
I have experience working with women who have experienced still birth, abortion, miscarriage, pregnancy loss and fertility issues. I have completed training offered by 'The Foundation for Infant Loss' for counsellors and professionals working in this area.
I am a trained and accredited provider of Primary Care level 3 Triple P Positive Parenting Programme.
Through non-judgemental, confidential counselling sessions I support you in unpicking these issues relating to your partner, children and family and exploring how they impact on your ability to relate to others. Working in this way will improve both your own emotional wellbeing and your relationships with those around you.
My first session
Our first session will be a full 50 minute assessment. This will be an opportunity for me to find out what brings you to counselling, for you to ask me questions about how I work and for us to decide on whether we are a good fit. I will also talk through the information sheet and consent form that I email clients prior to this assessment. After this session you will have the opportunity to decide whether or not you would like to start working with me.
