About me and my therapy practice
I truly believe talking therapy can make all the difference to one’s wellbeing. Anyone can suffer from emotional difficulties at one time or another, and the reasons why can be complex and diverse.
I take into consideration each individual's situation and offer the help most appropriate for them.
It can be challenging to reflect on difficult thoughts, emotions and events - past and present - and takes courage to make that first step in acknowledging that you need help and to speak openly about your issues. However, much like we have surgery to set a broken bone or take medicine to relieve an illness, talking therapy can help ease emotional pain, enhance relationships, and alter harmful habits and behaviours. It is good to talk!
I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor (MBACP) and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (in training).
I have worked, and continue to work, with various counselling services.
Before training to become a therapist, I worked for most of my life in the professional services sector in the City.
My first session
Please contact me, leaving a voicemail or sending me an email.
I will get in touch for a brief chat and we will arrange a date and time for an initial consultation.
The initial consultation usually lasts between 60 and 90 minutes.
In the session we will discuss what has brought you to therapy. It gives me the opportunity to learn a bit about you and your background. I will ask some practical questions and I may write a few notes. It is also a time when you can bring up any queries you may have about my approach and the therapy process.
Most importantly, it gives us the opportunity to get a sense of whether we can work together.
If we both decide to proceed with the therapy, we will arrange the fee, date and time for our sessions going forward.
