About me and my therapy practice
I am also an EMDR Therapist. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) was originally developed to help people suffering with PTSD. It is now also used for working with all kinds of trauma and is also effective for anxiety, depression, phobias and many other issues.
I have a specialist interest and experience working with men and men’s issues. I fully understand the pressures faced by men today and how opening up and talking about problems can be very difficult. There is a reason 8 out of 10 suicides in the UK are men, I believe this is because we, as men are not talking about our struggles because of the tired old messages to ‘man up’ and ‘boys don’t cry’, this leads to suppressing our emotions which can have devastating consequences.
I have helped many people who have experienced low mood, feelings of anxiety and depression, low self-esteem and relationship issues. I also have a lot of experience working with addictions. I have worked in residential treatment centres for addiction in Central London and Surrey.
I am a registered therapist with AXA, Aviva, WPA and Vitality Healthcare Insurance Providers.
