About me and my therapy practice

Hi there,

I am currently working  face to face and on-line.

Would you like some help with a difficult problem or feelings/anxieties? I am an approachable, warm, experienced counsellor and I specialise in supporting people at times of stress,  high anxiety, change and with relationship challenges. I have also worked in the corporate world for 30 years so I understand the demands. I career coach and do leadership coaching too.

If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, depressed or anxious then feel free to give me a call, email or look at my website.   I offer a free initial brief phone call and a half price first session.

I have worked with clients as a therapist for over 15 years.  I also coach people, so I have a lot of experience of the challenges  that people face in many sectors.

See my website for a full list of issues I work with.

We know from research that the biggest predictor of success is the relationship with your counsellor so feel free to have a look at my video on my website to get more of a sense of me, or read some testimonials. We work together to develop a direction and as people start to feel more resourceful, they begin to make changes.

I am  a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I work with their ethical framework. I trained at Metanoia which has an international reputation and I would describe my approach as integrative. This means I draw on many approaches from psycho-dynamic to Transactional Analysis, NLP, CBT and some psychosensory techniques which are adapted to each unique client. I have been seeing counselling clients since 2008.

I work with a broad range of issues, both short term and longer term . Please see below.

Practice description

The best way to get a sense of me is to have a look at my website and on there is what I help with, a video, so you can get a feel for me and some testimonials. It's about us building a relationship and partnership together, tackling the issues you face and clarifying what you want to achieve.  I am quite pragmatic and believe that most people can do far more than they believe with the right support. I work daytime only.

My first session

I normally send some helpful information about what to expect from a first session.  If the client wishes.  It's about getting to know each other and seeing if we would make a good partnership. I usually try to get you talking as much as possible so I can start to hear why you are considering counselling now, what the issues are and what you are hoping to achieve.
