About me and my therapy practice
I am a Play and Creative Arts Therapist and I work in an integrative, holistic way.
I work in a holistic, integrated, child-centred way, with awareness of developmental trauma and experience of working with children who have experienced adverse childhood experiences. Children I work with may have low self-esteem, have difficulty self-regulating, mental health and emotional difficulties. I offer a minimum of 12 sessions, or more long term therapy as required. I am a Certified Play Therapist (PTUK) and regulated by the Professional Standards Authority. I am based in Stroud and I work in Gloucestershire and surrounding areas.
Helping children who have experienced trauma, adverse childhood experiences, or who display emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. Working alongside parents and schools to improve children's mental health through play-based therapy.
I am also on the Theraplay Practicum and am a Theraplay Informed Practitioner.
My first session
Please contact me to discuss your needs and to see whether I am the right person to work with your child. After an initial telephone consultation we will decide whether to meet for an introductory meeting which lasts an hour. After that, if you wish to continue I will then have an introductory session with your child which lasts 30 minutes to 45 minutes. If you and your child wish to proceed I will then meet with your child for 45 minute sessions once a week.
