I am away from the 14th-28th of September 2021.

About me and my therapy practice

As a humanistic counsellor, my focus is to support you in re-discovering your innate sense of goodness and wholeness. Whether your troubles are underpinned by trauma or depressed feelings, our work together can build an understanding of who you are and what you need.

I am a fully qualified Humanistic therapist, and I undertook my training at the Metanoia Institute. My approach integrates the values of Person-Centred, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt philosophy. This blend of modalities allows me to be flexible in my work and meet you where you are in your life.

My approach

My training draws on several schools of thought which allows for flexibility in my approach. I work from the viewpoint that each person is innately good and holds the capacity for real change and growth, in the right conditions.

Our work together

If you decide you would like to start working together, we will start from where you are. You can share whatever you feel comfortable to share.

As our therapeutic relationship grows, we can explore your existing coping strategies and compassionately acknowledge how they have helped and served you this far.

We can look at aspects of your life that you wish to change or enhance and talk through how you picture journeying to where you would like to be. Therapy can also provide a non-judgemental space for you to experiment with alternative ways of relating to your world. I believe it is equally important to recognise and rejoice in your achievements, whether big or small, you are worthy of celebration.

I also enjoy working creatively. I wish to honour your individual process and I am happy to support you in finding your creative way of communicating.

Practice description

I carry out online sessions from my home in Rickmansworth in a private space.

Working online

Working therapeutically online offers a different experience. Like many counsellors, I have worked online for the past year and I have completed two short courses in order to meet my ethical obligation for online working.

It is important you have a private space, free from interruptions, which allows you somewhere to feel both safe and comfortable in. I endeavour to mimic face to face work as much as possible, but of course it does have limitations. Online sessions also may not suit every persons situation, please feel free to reach out so we can discuss more and I can explain in greater detail the benefits and limitations of online working to see if it could work for you.

Courses for online working

My first session

I offer an exploratory session which is charged at half my standard rate, £22.50. This is to see if we are comfortable working together, you can also get a sense if online sessions could work for you going forward.

Thereafter, sessions will be charged at £45 per 50 minutes, unless we have agreed a concessionary rate.
