About me and my therapy practice
If the idea of counselling, or therapy, seems daunting, you are not unusual or alone in that thought. Starting it can feel, for some people, uncomfortable, overwhelming, perhaps embarrassing but if you've decided to talk to someone about personal issues, then its important to find someone you feel comfortable and safe with.
I like to talk with new clients initially for a 'taster where we can ask both questions and we can see how it feels to talk together. There is no charge for this half hour chat. If you decide to work with me then we organise our first appointment.
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. Due to Covid, I no longer offer face to face sessions, instead all sessions are online, using Zoom, or over the phone.
People I've worked with over the past 15 years have come from all walks of life; adults of all ages facing different challenges, for example:
- Work/Life balance
- Loss - of a relationship, a loved one, a job, their health or looks
- Traumatic events, like an accident or an attack
- Anxiety - about driving, habits
- Stress, low Self-Esteem,
- Depression or Loneliness
Everyone is different and together we work out how you want to address your concerns using a Talking Therapy, CBT, EMDR or a combination. You are the expert on you!
Therapy doesn't have to go on forever. Sometimes just a few sessions can help you find the right road for you again.
Practice description
My practice is no longer face to face counselling.
My first session
Our first session is an assessment. We talk to discover whats going on and how it feels. We take a look at your relevant history and set some goals - what to you want to be different and how do we achieve it?
It might feel a bit of a tough session. I will ask you to look after yourself, pass on the areas that feel too challenging to talk about but gently explore who you are and what's going wrong.
