About me and my therapy practice

Sessions offered in Camden, islington, Finchley, Hampstead and Highgate.

I use a psychodynamic approach, in a space that is confidential and empathic. We will work together to understand the core themes that you bring to help you deal with them better and progress in your life.

This process involves making links, gaining insights and becoming aware of what is really going on in yourself. The next stage would be to process this material and help you contain it even when it seems that things are not going to get resolved. Through this process choice starts coming forth which has been absent before. One starts gaining degrees of freedom and becomes more able to govern their life than be governed by uncontrollable dynamics external or internal.

In short term supportive therapy or counselling, we try to focus on particular issue(s) that are problematic for you that we can work on within a limited number of sessions. Here, the emphasis is less on the past and more on the present and on giving you support to help you resolve or cope with your difficulty. We will work on managing anxiety, self-esteem, and adaptive skills. Because time is limited, we will try to achieve an understanding of the problem and explore the options of how to deal with it in an optimal way to move forward.

Availability:

  • Mondays
    • 7am-12pm. Skype (Fadi.Salaam)
    • 8am-9pm. In person
  • Sundays. 10am-4pm. Skype or in person at Finchley or Islington
