My inbox is open and I look forward to hearing from you!

I work with clients online from all over the UK - location is not a barrier to working with me.

Whilst my availability is often limited, I do have some availability for online sessions and, if available, face to face appointments which are held in South Manchester (M33).

I also hold a waiting list; it is a moving picture as people naturally move on from counselling, ready and equipped to embrace their personal learnings.

I am contactable by email at hello@lauranash.co.uk. You will find lots of helpful information on my website about my experience and how I work.

About me and my therapy practice

If you are struggling with something and searching for support, hopefully your search ends here.

There's so much choice, why work with me?

Because I am invested in you and your progress.

Whatever is affecting you, my goal is simple. It is for you to leave feeling clearer, lighter, more positive and in control. You will hopefully understand yourself and your world in a different way, having discovered new approaches to moving forward which feel manageable, calm and in alignment with who you are.

It's important to know that we all experience times in our life that are overwhelming, challenging and sometimes paralysing. I firmly believe that you do not need to have experienced something catastrophic to justify why you might be finding things difficult.

My insight and intervention will help you to identify how your feelings could be impacting your behaviour, your choices and the quality and depth of your relationships, particularly the relationship you have with yourself.

You matter, your feelings matter and your happiness matters. If anything is impacting that, with my support you can work things through.

I am passionate about normalising seeking support when we need to; it is an investment in yourself.

Practice description

Who and what I work with

I work with adults, children and young people facing a wide range of issues. Examples include resilience, anxiety, anger, depression, grief, loss, loneliness, trauma, obsessional behaviours, life transitions, parenting challenges, relationship struggles, workplace stress, overwhelm, abuse and low self esteem.

This is not an exhaustive list and many issues are interlinked. For example:

- as an adult you may be facing family or work challenges which start to affect your relationships. Anxiety, depression or grief might be affecting your day to day functioning leaving you feeling alone, unable to open up or angry! You may be depressed, questioning the point of life and feeling like a failure. Low self-esteem may be inhibiting your ability to be assertive and decisive in life. A family member may be in crisis and you are struggling to support them and yourself.

- as a child or young person you may be struggling to fit in or keep up at school, leaving you feeling frustrated and unsettled. Friendship dramas may be impacting your self-esteem, including your ability to sleep well and regulate your emotions. Parental separation/blended families may be tricky to navigate which impacts behaviour and belonging. You may have lost a loved one and are finding it hard to process that loss. Exam stress may be consuming! You may be moving out/off to further study and feeling apprehensive or lonely.

No two people are the same and nor are two counselling sessions. The sessions that I offer are entirely bespoke; it is a truly personal opportunity.

I will help you find the courage needed to safely identify and explore the times in your life that have been difficult, support you in processing the impact and be with you as you move from discomfort to comfort.

With your engagement, the knock on effect will be improvements in other areas of your life including your wider relationships, your confidence, your mindset and your resilience.

My first session

In our first session, we will start to get to know one other. This may be your first time seeing a therapist and my goal is to provide warmth and reassurance to you; it is a hugely brave and courageous step.

Whatever your age, you may be feeling nervous or reluctant for all sorts of reasons and this is understandable. You can be assured of a safe place to explore whatever challenges you are facing.

We will spend some time discussing your circumstances and what your needs and hopes are. Don't worry if you struggle with identifying this, verbalising this or you simply aren't sure! With patience I will stay with you.

We will start to forge what I hope will become a trusted working relationship where you feel able to express yourself exactly as you are.

I really look forward to meeting you!
