About me and my therapy practice
I have a private practice in Esher where I currently offer either online work or face to face sessions within a calming, peaceful garden lodge setting.
My MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy means we can draw from a wide range of models, and preferences, and find a way of working that best fits your individual needs.
The idea of counselling can feel daunting, I know, but my warm, down to earth approach aims to put you at ease and allow for a joint exploration of your situation within a safe, confidential therapeutic relationship.
I have a passion for my work and am committed to offering the most helpful, meaningful and healing ways of working.
I work with a broad range of issues from bereavement and loss, of various forms, anxiety, anger, depression, demotivation, identity issues, relationship difficulties, physical symptoms, PTSD and traumatic experience.
My approach largely focusses on your immediate situation. However, it's sometimes helpful to explore how our past patterns can impact on our present day experiencing, on an emotional and physical level.
An exploration of your problems, feelings and patterns allows you to re-frame how you connect to yourself, to others, to the choices you make and helps you become more fully your Self!
I undertake regular Continued Personal Development and supervision to maintain a good standard of practice and work in accordance with the BACP’s ethical framework that priorities commitment to confidentiality and respect of my clients’ diverse and individual needs.
Practice description
I aim to work holistically in highlighting the relationship between our thinking, feeling and physical selves and draw, when helpful, from psycho-biological models, including Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal, Structural Dissociation Model and Internal Family Systems. These models are, in themselves, integrative and effectively combine CBT, psychodynamic theory, sensorimotor psychotherapy, neuroscience and Mindfulness-based therapies.
My first session
Our first session offers you an opportunity to give me an overview of your situation and how it's affecting your life, work and relationships.
We also get a sense of how it feels between us, how we might work together and whether we feel like a good match for each other.
I aim to briefly outline possible ways of working together and welcome questions and preferences for particular approaches.
