About me and my therapy practice

I'm a psychotherapist with 25 years experience in private practise. I have also practiced at Guy's Hospital and am fully accredited and registered with the BACP. Psychotherapy helps you clarify what you want from life, improving relationships with others, taking responsibility, regaining control and engaging more fully with life. Aiming for greater self understanding and heightened self acceptance, the therapy helps to make sense of what's going on in the here-and-now, as well as addressing past experiences and how they impact on the present.

About me and my therapy practice

Ongoing counselling supervision for trainees and practitioners is an essential ingredient of effective psychotherapy, both in terms of maintaining an ethical practice and safeguarding clients and practitioners.

I provide supervision in accordance with the BACP ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.

Primordial to the way that I work is to offer a safe, supportive, challenging and creative space to explore client work. Key areas of focus include:

•Assessment and evaluation

•Direction of the work

•Critical awareness of and reflection upon the therapeutic process

•Maintenance of therapeutic boundaries and ethical thinking

•How the client constructs meaning via language

•How to work with relational dynamics: transference, countertransference and projective identification

I work with supervisees of all different modalities including analytic and existential.
