I am here for you.
If you are struggling, I am here to help you. You will be listened to with empathy, understanding and acceptance, and together we will make greater sense of your thoughts and feelings to overcome anxiety or lift your mood.
I will work with you to help you to understand the impact of painful or traumatic current or past events/relationships on your life now, bringing a peace of mind and healing which will transform your sense of well-being.
Face-to-face sessions are available with social distancing measures in place, and I am also able to offer Skype, Zoom or telephone sessions - now, more than ever before, you don’t need to feel alone or cut off, because we can ‘meet’ and connect from within our own homes . Might this just be the perfect opportunity as lockdown is lifted, to begin counselling and spend some time on yourself?
About me and my therapy practice
If you need some help and support, I’m here to help you to explore what may be blocking your happiness and wellbeing, and to support you as you embark on a personal journey towards greater mental and emotional health.
I believe the key to overcoming emotional problems and the damaging effects of past hurts, lies within the quality of a trusting and confidential therapeutic relationship, which we will build together in a safe and confidential environment.
Person-centred and non-judgmental in my approach, I work in a humanistic way, integrating psychodynamic theory with practical goal-setting and Sensorimotor/Internal Family Systems Psychotherapy because I believe the body, mind and soul are all connected.
If this feels like the right time for you to work through relationship issues or past trauma/hurts, I am here to help you experience transformational change, which brings a powerful sense of inner peace.
I specialise in work-related stress, and have a particular interest in the field of attachment and trauma, and in working to support clients who either have been diagnosed with a personality disorder, or who are in relationship with someone who has a personality disorder. Are you struggling as a Couple? I am a trained Couples Counsellor, committed to helping you both to develop your understanding of yourself and one another, and to improve the style and quality of your communication to build, repair -or re-connect to, a closer and more fulfilling relationship.
I am able to offer discounted remote sessions to frontline NHS clients, or those suffering financial hardship, during these times of social distancing and lockdown.
My first session
Our first confidential session will include brief history taking as part of a comfortable discussion, with plenty of time to ask questions so that you fully understand what to expect in your sessions . We will also agree Covid-19 post lockdown procedures.
It’s important to feel comfortable and I like to allow 75 minutes for a first session. All my clients report experiencIng an immediate sense of relief and/or a renewed sense of hope for better times ahead, from their very first session.
