About me and my therapy practice
Durham Counselling and Psychotherapy.
People turn to counselling for a variety of reasons. Events may have occurred that have left you feeling confused, overwhelmed, sad or afraid. We all need a bit of extra help at times and counselling can be a place for you to make sense of what you are experiencing, make positive changes in your life and to increase your sense of well-being.
I will assist you to do this by providing a space where you will feel heard and understood. Where you are met with compassion and acceptance as I help you to try and make sense of your emotions so that life can begin to feel easier.
I am a humanistic integrative counsellor. This means that I place the building of a safe and trusting relationship with you central to my work, whilst integrating other approaches which I feel may be of benefit to you.
I have over ten years of experience of working in a variety support settings. Such experience includes Victim Support, working in student support at Durham University and four years as a Practice Counsellor at GP Surgeries in County Durham. I now dedicate my time to Private Practice and mentoring at one of the Durham University colleges.
I offer you a choice of face-to-face, online or telephone therapy.
If you wanted to attend a face-to-face session I am located just a short walk from the centre of Durham and I am also easily accessible by car or public transport.
