Private Practice Working Hours : Monday - Wednesday 10 am - 7pm via Zoom or phone.Monday - 10 - am - 8pm ( flexible daytime slots available) Tuesday - 10am - 8pm ( flexible daytime slots available)Wednesday 10 am - 8pm - ( FULLY BOOKED -waiting list available) I am contactable by phone or email during office hours Monday - Wednesday (9am - 6pm) I can offer certain flexibility during the day time as I understand that it can be difficult to maintain a consistent weekly time. However I would advise that evening slots are a weekly commitment due to the popularity of the time. Annual leave: Monday 27th June and Bank holidays

About me and my therapy practice

Helping clients suffering with work stress using counselling. I trained and then worked for 7 years within one of the largest charities in Gloucestershire working as an accredited MBACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) staff counsellor and assessor. Alongside working for a national addiction charity for several years before embarking on private practice in Bristol. I have over 10 years counselling experience and continue to develop my skill set attending regular professional development courses and seminars. I have previous experience of working within a large PLC sales company and understand the pressures and expectations within the corporate environment.Psychodynamic counselling, this focuses on unconscious and conscious thought processes. Sometimes experiences in the past can influence our present behaviour beyond our current awareness, causing difficulties with relationships and other important areas of life. I work to try and help you come to your own understanding of those influences and experiences creating space to be curious about our choices and how we can then redefine, reposition, and move forward. Offering a confidential space tailoring the sessions to the individuals needs using a combination of psychodynamic, mindful, and cognitive approaches.Possible beneficial outcomes of counselling: Processing past events enabling a shift to move forward. Learning healthier ways to cope with stress. A greater understanding of your part in relationship dynamics. Enabling a space to think about kindness and compassion towards yourself and others. Understanding of self and triggers for addictive or unhelpful behaviours. Better capacity to trust in yourself to handle life’s challenges. A capacity for greater self care and creative expression.

My first session

During our first session. I will ask a number of questions to get an understand of your background, these will include your past and present circumstances. I do ask for GP details. I will only contact your GP if there was a circumstance that you or someone else's safety was a concern. I will not contact your GP for any other reason without your consent.On the initial meet I will also present a counselling agreement for you to sign, this is to provide a framework to our work together. I will also send you T&C's in regards to GDPR, missed sessions and fees. After the first session, we will then continue with you bringing what you feel is important to the sessions. We will look at the past and present , coupled with helpful cognitive or mindful exercises in-between sessions when appropriate.Importantly, this is a confidential space, where my aim is for you to feel heard and understood. With the long term outcome that you are able to handle stress in a healthy and manageable way.
