About me and my therapy practice

Having had over 25 years of experience working as a therapeutic counsellor BACP(Snr Accre) working with individuals and couples, providing short and long term work.

I work by the BACP Ethical Framework and receive regular professional supervision from experienced practitioners.

I know it is not always easy and often daunting coming for counselling , whether you come as an individual or as a couple.

I am warm and engaging as well as practical .This helps to create a safe place to explore the issues you wish to bring.

I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and draw from a variety of theoretical models, Person centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) to enable me to respond to the individual needs of my client.

Working with issues such as, low self-esteem, stress and panic, anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement, loss, abuse, workplace stress to name a few .

Having had a variety of experience working with student counsellors in training for personal development.

Being an accredited Bereavement counsellor having worked with CRUSE.

Experience of working in the University student counselling service, alcohol and drugs agency as well as a community mental health setting.

I also work as an affiliate counsellor for several EAP national organisations as well as holding registration for Aviva and Bupa Insurance healthcare providers.

Originally coming from a nursing background with over 20 years experience of working within critical care as well as surgical and medical wards. My final 10 years of my career was heading a team of nurses in the community working in the inner city and previously working in the rural community.

Practice description

I work upstairs in a very light and comfortable room. Easy access to washroom facilities.

Plenty of off-street parking outside of the house.

Sessions are £60 for individuals

Sessions for couples £75

I also work remotely using the platform zoom .

My first session

Sessions are for 60 minutes in length.
