About me and my therapy practice

I have an MSc (Level 7) with distinction in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy. I have worked in Addiction and Mental Health settings until starting my private practise in 2014. I work with people with a wide range of issues and offer a variety of approaches to therapy.

Psychotherapy offers a confidential space where you can think about the changes you wish to make in your life. Often clients have difficulties as a result of past experience and these affect how they respond to their current situation. I work with people to gain more understanding of how their past affects them currently and how these maybe addressed.

As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I help people who are experiencing a wide range of challenges. A lot of people I work with are struggling with stress, anxiety and depression, others lack self-esteem, facing workplace challenges, experienced trauma, struggling with eating issues others are experiencing feelings of sadness, hopelessness, anger and/or despair.

Psychotherapists undertake in-depth training which includes extensive placement hours in a variety of settings, personal therapy and a commitment to continued professional development. From my personal experience of therapy and my training, I am able to provide therapy in a way that feels safe and not threatening, where people can talk openly and feel understood and not judged. I feel its important that the therapeutic process is jointly agreed, so in our first appointment we will look at what your goals are from sessions and how I may be able to best support you to make changes to get your life back on track.

I offer a number of services face to face counselling, support groups, walk & talk therapy, online therapy, animal-assisted therapy. If mobility is an issue then home visits are also available within 5 miles of my office (daytime only).

About me and my therapy practice

I offer a warm, & supportive supervision style to private practitioners, health care professionals and organisations. If can be difficult to find a supervisor you feel confident and safe with, so I offer an initial telephone consultation free of charge to explore how we might work together.

I work in a collaborative way- exploring client content bought to counselling along with experiences, feelings and thoughts that arise with the supervisee, with regard to the relationship with the client. I support supervises in the way they choose to work with their clients.

I work to create an environment where a supervisee can feel safe, understood, supported and when required challenged. My focus is to develop self-confidence and an 'internal supervisor.'

I have a PG Certificate in Clinical Supervision (Level 6) and see my role as threefold:

1: educational in supporting supervisees to work towards best practice

2: monitoring where we focus on the quality of client work and ethical practice

3: supportive and holding space to allow supervisees to discharge emotional responses to client work

My own client work is integrative, the core being person-centred which helps reinforce a sense of self and confidence.

My fees can be found on my website www.lifeondreams.com or feel free to call me to discuss further.
