About me and my therapy practice

I work with each client as an individual & relational therapeutic approach, working with each clients as an individual we can build and approach to reach your treatment goals. I offer a trauma informed, empathic, relational, non-judgemental approach to psychotherapy and counselling supporting a variety of clients. Free initial telephone assessment to explore how I maybe able to help you, reach your treatment goals.

You may just want to talk about what's troubling you or you may want to explore specific issues and have support to find more helpful ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. I support clients with addiction, anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, abuse, PTSD, low self-esteem, stress and life transitions. Please look at my website for full details and fees.

Having had psychotherapy myself not just as part of my training but continuing to do so since 2008, I know how life changing & enhancing it can be. Your therapeutic journey is individual to you, but it can help to know I've also been on my own journey and now feel privileged to be in a position to help clients at times of personal difficulty.

Practice description

I am a BACP Accredited (MBACP Accred) and NCS Accredited (NCS Prof Accred) Psychotherapist. I am also a Fellow of ACCPH and and Advanced Practitioner with Addiction Professionals (formerly FDAP), holding an MSc (Level 7) with distinction in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy. I have worked in Addiction and Mental Health settings until starting my private practice in 2013. I work with people with a wide range of issues and offer a variety of approaches to therapy.

Psychotherapy offers a confidential space where you can think about the changes you wish to make in your life. Often clients have difficulties as a result of past experience and these affect how they respond to their current situation. I work with people to gain more understanding in how their past affects them currently and how these may be addressed.

My training as an Integrative Psychotherapist allows me to help people who are experiencing a wide range of challenges. A lot of people I work with are struggling with anxiety and depression, others lack self-esteem, facing workplace challenges, experienced trauma, struggling with eating issues others are experiencing feelings of sadness, hopelessness, anger and/or despair. With my previous experience in Addiction Clinics & Mental Health Treatment Centres, I often support people affected by addiction including the families of addicts.

I offer a number of services face to face counselling, support groups, walk & talk therapy, online therapy, animal-assisted therapy (including horses and dogs).

My first session

I offer an initial free telephone call for 20-30 mins to explore how we feel about working together.

Following this, my initial consultation is 90 minutes where we can take time to ease anxiety, let you have a drink and talk through your concerns. I will ask you to complete an online assessment ahead of time, which we will review together before agreeing a treatment plan to help you achieve your goals of therapy.
