About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling with anxiety? Perhaps you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or having trouble sleeping? Maybe you are feeling 'off', and want to feel like yourself again?

Do you want to feel hopeful about the day ahead? Or to find ways to deal with your OCD or panic attacks? Would you like to sleep better? Perhaps you want to feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin.

Counselling can help. It provides a safe, confidential space for you to explore yourself and your problems with someone who is unrelated to your personal life and who won’t judge you.

I’m a BACP Registered Counsellor and a Professional Member of the Association for Counselling & Therapy Online (ACTO), fully trained in working online.

I specialise in working with anxiety, and have experience with a wide range of issues including stress, OCD, phobias, panic attacks, self-esteem, insomnia, relationship issues, bereavement and loss. I offer both long- and short-term therapy to adults through online video sessions by Zoom, on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

I offer a free, 15-minute phone consultation when you contact me as I believe it’s important to find a counsellor you feel comfortable with. We will talk about what is troubling you and how I may be able to help.

I work in a warm, understanding way. We will work at your own pace to make sense of any challenges you are facing in your life, while being curious about how your past may influence your current life.

Please do get in touch if you have any questions or to book in your free phone consultation.

Practice description

I am a Professional Member of the Association for Counselling & Therapy Online (ACTO).

I have experience in counselling a wide range of issues including stress, anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), phobias, panic attacks, low self-esteem, sleep issues, relationship issues, women’s issues, bereavement and loss.

I draw on various approaches when I work, which includes Person Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis (TA) and Solution Focussed Therapy. I am trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for Anxiety and OCD, which includes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I also offer CBT techniques and creative work when I feel they may be of help to you. I also work holistically, meaning that we will consider your physical and spiritual needs, as well as looking at your psychological and emotional needs and wants. I also follow the Health At Every Size ® (HAES®) approach.

Being able to talk to a professional about your experiences and problems can be liberating and help change happen. The focus of our sessions is always on you, and you will be heard and supported without feeling judged or criticised, which may be different to what you experience when you talk your problems over with friends or family. I will help you to better understand your feelings and the thoughts and worries you have, and I can help you to find your own solutions to problems.

I work in a warm, understanding way and am able to support you to make the changes you want to make. We will work at your own pace to make sense of any challenges you are facing in your life, while being curious about how your past may influence your current life.

At our first session, I will ask you some questions to help me understand how I can help you to find a way forward with your problems. During sessions, I will listen to you with the aim of helping you feel clearer about the extent and effect of your problems, and to help you recognise possible solutions. I work in a warm, understanding way to help you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to achieve your goals. I may offer ideas to work on outside of the sessions, such as keeping a journal or carrying out exercises.
