About me and my therapy practice
How therapy can help?
At certain times in our lives most of us find we become stuck or unhappy. These feelings can arise from repeating the same mistakes or patterns. Sometimes a bereavement can result in overwhelming feelings of grief or loss. We can begin to experience symptoms of anxiety or depression. We can feel trapped at work or in our personal relationships. We can struggle with issues around self esteem or low confidence. Coming to terms with and accepting our true identities in terms of gender and sexuality can be extremely challenging. Trauma from our past which we have not processed can re-emerge. Sometimes things just don’t feel right and we are not sure why. Any of these issues can bring a person to therapy and when working with a therapist, a client is able to gain a better understanding of themselves and find a new way to work through problems and challenges.
How I work
I work with adults aged 16 and over and I work with a broad range of people including those from the LGBTQ+ community and those with a BAME background. I enjoy working with a diverse range of clients from different cultures and experiences. I offer weekly sessions and the therapy can be open ended or 12 sessions, depending on your preference. I have a private practice in central London on Nassau Street, and I see clients face to face or on zoom on a weekly basis.
I am a Psychotherapist and qualified member of the BACP. I work in an intergrative way, primarily as a humanistic therapist. I believe the relationship between myself and my clients is fundamental and I strive to offer an empathic and safe environment, as we work together and collaborate to gain insight and understanding. I am trained to work with a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Psychodynamic, Solution Focussed and Existentialist Therapies. I am able to work with you and tailor therapy to your needs as we get to know one another. I recognise that one size does not fit all and I can offer a way of working which would be most helpful for you.
I offer a confidential, warm and safe space and help you to gain greater insight into what is going on for you. Therapy can help you uncover blind spots and together we can discover the root causes of the challenges you face. After spending time exploring where you are now, we can turn our focus to the future and map out what your hopes and goals are and how you can work towards them. During your therapeutic journey you can take time to connect with your values, belief, hopes and dreams, which in turn leads to a more fulfilling and rich life.
My first session
Our first session will involve an assessment, which will give us both the opportunity to decide if we want to work together. I will try and get a picture of where you are currently and you can ask me any questions you may have about therapy. We can then arrange a convenient day and time to begin.
I charge £80 per session and a session lasts 50 minutes. If you need to cancel there is a 24+ hours notice cancellation policy, so any sessions which are cancelled with under 24 hours notice will be charged.
