About me and my therapy practice
I offer supervision on a one-to-one basis, both in-person in Omagh, Co Tyrone, and via zoom for supervisees based elsewhere. I am a Humanistic practitioner in my own therapeutic practice (person-centred, existential and embodied), and as such this is the modality I am best placed to supervise.
Having taught counselling up to qualification level for 3 years I am experienced in supervising trainees. I work solidly within the BACP Ethical Framework and value the personal moral qualities therein of resilience, courage and care - meaning you can expect to be supported and developed in every aspect of your work.
Practice description
I am committed to care of the practitioner, and this deeply informs my supervisory work. While the focus is ultimately always on the client, I am passionate about ensuring you, the counsellor, are safe, effective and fulfilled in your work. In our sessions we will take time to explore your responses to your clients, what you and your clients most need and how your therapeutic relationship is.
I offer a challenging, but well-held space and believe that trust is fundamental to the success of a supervisory relationship. I am able to offer a relational focus to your work, as well as helping you link theory to practice.
My first session
In our first session we will take a little time to get to know each other. I will ask you about your client experience and modality, as well as establishing what you are looking for in supervision. I will share what I believe I can offer you through supervision and we will decide if we feel there is a good fit before moving into exploring client material.

About me and my therapy practice
I work one-to-one with adults, offering counselling and psychotherapy, in-person at my peaceful and private indoor therapy room at my premises in Omagh, or outdoors using local natural spaces to do walk and talk sessions where I find the presence of nature and the element of movement can really help you process and reflect on what you are going through.
I work in a humanistic way, integrating person-centred counselling with embodied psychotherapy. This means I am with my clients as a fellow human being, rather than an 'expert'. I believe that our thoughts happen in our minds, and our emotions happen in our bodies. So, my sessions will be a combination of talking about your thoughts and feelings, as well noticing what your body is communicating, and working directly with that too. This might involve meditation, movement and creative techniques. Therapy of this kind can bring about real personal growth as you gain insight into yourself, in a safe, non-judgmental space, through both mind and body.
I am a supportive and empathic listener and observer for my clients, throughout times of distress, confusion, loss and despair. The relationship between me and my clients is based on trust, honesty and respect, and this is at the very heart of my counselling.
How I can help: I have experience of working with clients with anxiety, long-term medical conditions, depression, despair, loss and relationships issues. I regularly attend continued professional development training courses to further expand my experience and develop my awareness and practice. As an Embodied Psychotherapist, which means I can help you work through emotions stored in your body, which can be especially helpful if you find it hard to talk and open up. Where appropriate I use meditation and guided visualisation with clients, particularly where clients are exploring their spirituality or deeper inner self.
I am proud to support the LGBTQ+ community as an ally 🏳️🌈

I work with adults in a person-centred way, which means I am with my clients as a fellow human being, rather than an 'expert', and my clients can explore their emotions and relationships in their own way, at their own pace. Counselling of this kind can bring about real personal growth as clients gain insight into themselves, in a safe, non-judgemental space, without being told what to do.
I sometimes take sessions outside, into natural spaces, to integrate movement and connection to nature to the work, as these can be very powerful healing agents.
