About me and my therapy practice

I have over twenty-five year's experience as a therapist.  I've worked in many different settings from universities to charities, and I've run a private practice for nearly all that time.  My work focuses on supporting you through the challenges you are facing: relationship issues, bereavement, anxiety, depression... At the heart of therapy is the relationship which develops between us; I will give you time and space to explore and think through the issues which have brought you to me - for as long as feels helpful.

My approach to therapy is integrative - drawing on psychodynamic, existential and cognitive approaches to understanding human distress.  I believe that change occurs when we feel supported to take meaningful steps in line with our deeply held values.  But counselling is not just about making change: it can also be a way of accessing support when we are facing testing times in life - and I aim to be alongside through whatever difficult you are facing.

I have a Doctorate in Psychotherapy (Metanoia/Middlesex University, 2010); an MA in Counselling (University of Birmingham, 1999) and a Certificate in Marital and Couple Counselling (RELATE 1999).

Please visit my website for further information and for answers to common questions from people who are thinking about coming for therapy.  I look forward to hearing from you.
