I have been helping women who have experienced trauma adversity with their transformation and renewal for over five years.
As well as helping you process what has happened and supporting you to deal with the possible Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety or depression that it has caused, I can help you to discover what you want for yourself, rather than what society or others have told you that you want or need. If you have experienced emotional abuse, discrimination, childhood neglect, abandonment, loss, sexual abuse, domestic violence, bullying, medical trauma or any other trauma or adverse experience it is understandable that you need a safe space to work out how to move forward and have someone to support you. I believe it is possible to break the patterns that emerge after trauma, loss, or adversity as I have seen it many times in my practice. I know that hope can start to grow in the most difficult of circumstances.
I believe it is very important to offer a safe and nurturing space for people to explore their healing journey so this is what I do. Warmth and compassion are very much part of my therapy as I know that some people haven't always experienced this in their lives. I believe that warmth and compassion can facilitate healing and growth.

I also offer Eye Movement Desensitisation and Regulation Therapy (EMDR). EMDR helps us to focus on three time periods: the past, the present and the future. About me and my therapy practice
If you have experienced trauma or adversity in the workplace or if you are experiencing workplace stress, I can help you make sense of it and move towards a brighter future in your career and your life in general. Perhaps you experience vicarious trauma in your role (for example you might work in healthcare or emergency services) or perhaps the difficulties you are experiencing are related to the culture of the organisation you work in. I can help with each of these scenarios. We spend a lot of time at work and if your work-life is problematic it can cause issues in other areas of your life so it is not a problem that should be simply swept aside. Perhaps people have told you 'nobody likes their job, just get on with it'. I don't share this approach as I believe that being happy at work is important. It can also be helpful to examine our patterns at work because it can often reflect what is going on in other areas of your life.
I can also help you if you feel lost in finding the career that is right for you. I understand how this can impact your life negatively and how liberating and affirming it can be to finally find an engaging career that you are passionate about.
This is an area I specialise in due to my background in Human Resources (I have a post-graduate certificate in Human Resource Management) and my own experiences in the workplace. Human Resources wasn't for me but I now like to use my knowledge and experience to help those who have experienced adversity in the workplace.
I specialise in counselling around workplace issues in addition to working with women who have experienced any kind of trauma or adversity including childhood abuse, medical trauma, discrimination, and domestic violence.
Practice description
If you have experienced or are experiencing workplace trauma or adversity I can help you in the following ways:
- If you feel you are experiencing vicarious trauma or compassion fatigue due to the nature of your work, I can help you process this trauma which may be stored in the body. EMDR therapy would also be an option if this is something you are interested in.
- If you are experiencing or have experienced workplace bullying or adversity, I offer a safe space for you to talk this through and work out what is happening. I never believe this is the fault of the person who has been hurt. However, I do believe that looking at patterns of behaviour can help us make sure that these situations do not continue to happen. I believe (and know myself) that it is possible to reach a place of greater empowerment and freedom.
- I have tools to help you explore your sense of identity so that you can find a career more suitable and meaningful for you if this is something you need. This may include working creatively or supporting you to access and trust your own intuition.
- I can help you with stress management techniques and boundary setting.
