Thank You Bev Kidd.
About me and my therapy practice
“Bev helped me untangle my thoughts and used various methods to do this, many of which I do without thinking about now! I have my positivity and confidence back, am able to trust myself and am excited for the future”. (Sam 2022)
I can promise you will be listened to, and we will work together to begin to understand your issues. I prize our relationship, we need to be able to trust each other, this is the foundation of our work. We will focus on how you feel, your emotions and in your body, what thoughts are connected to these emotions and sensations and in turn how these influence the way you respond in life and relationships. Using a range of approaches (all based in research and properly evidenced), together we will find an approach, or combined approaches, and select what works best for you. This is know as an integrative approach and with a background in psychology I also bring psychological approaches to our work.
You will remain in control of what you bring to our sessions and as we get to know each other what you want to talk about may change, which is fine. I work flexibly so that we can respond to these changes as they arise. As your understanding grows you may choose to consider how best to respond to this and any changes you might choose to make. I will support you to make any changes you choose until you are ready to carry-on on your own. The time this takes is different for everyone so I don't limit the sessions available. If you wish to do so, that is fine, and we can explore what might be achievable within your timeframe.
“I found Bev to be very wise, skilled and intuitive in seeking out in me some of the things that I maybe hadn’t put completely into words. She helped me discover some of the roots of things I was struggling with and, more importantly, helped me move on. That gave me an enormous sense of wellbeing.” Jay (2022)
Practice description
I offer an open number of sessions, but am also willing to work within a limited time frame. I usually work with you once a week, at the same time on the same day each week for up to 50 minutes each session. This will be your dedicated appointment time each week and not offered to anyone else.
I work exclusively on line at present, usually on Zoom, but I am willing to consider other platforms if you have another you prefer. My clients tell me this as helpful and successful as working face to face in a therapy room and brings the added benefit of being able to choose somewhere they feel comfortable to be while we meet.
“I have to say after my initial reluctance contacting an on-line counselling service, I found the whole experience working with you a very simple, easy and positive process. As the sessions continued, I soon started looking forward to our weekly meetings as I recognised the support was really working.” (Kris 2021)
I can help you to use Zoom if you need this. I have total confidentiality at my end with a dedicated workspace protected from being overlooked or overheard and extremely fast broadband.
My work is monitored to ensure I continue to offer you the best practice I can and always meets the exacting ethical and practice standards of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I work with adults (over 18 years old).

I would like to offer you the chance to meet me and talk to me before you decide if I am the right therapist for you. During this conversation I will be asking for some details to help me check I can help you. This won't be a therapy session as such, but a time to share information. It is important for you to feel that I am someone you are comfortable talking to, and for me to understand what you are looking for.
So, to do this I offer a free, no obligation 20 minute telephone conversation in which you can get a feel of what it is like to talk to me and I can answer any questions you may have. This conversation is treated with the same confidentiality as ongoing therapy would be.
If it becomes apparent that working with me isn’t right for you, I will be happy to suggest alternatives. For further information about me and working with me you can also visit my website at

About me and my therapy practice
“Bev made me feel valued and heard for the first time in a long time. I couldn’t recommend her enough. She provided me with a safe space where I felt comfortable to work through some issues without feeling judged or stupid and feel like a completely different person to the one who started the sessions.” (Charlie 2023)
I work with a range of different approaches which I combine to find a way which works for you. This is known as an integrative approach. All the approaches I use are tried and tested and based in current researched evidence. I am also a qualified psychologist.
We will explore and work towards understanding your issues as a team. You remain in control at all times, deciding what you do or don't want to work on. I bring a range of knowledge and skills to help you to do this and to decide what you would like to do next, be that working towards improved well-being, effective, positive change or something else. My work is continuously monitored by trained supervisors to ensure that I am providing you with the best therapy I can. My work has been assessed and shown to meet the exacting standards and ethics of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Practice description
I will encourage you to explore the issues which brought you here. As we get to know each other and understand your issues, what you choose to talk about may change, and this is totally fine. We can focus on specific issues and/or delve more deeply into how things came to be the way they are for you. I use a range of skills, strategies and techniques to help you to explore these issues. This may include reflecting on your past as well as your present. I will encourage you to focus on how you are feeling, where those feelings come from and how the thoughts which go with these feelings influence your responses and behaviours.
“Your compassion and understanding were a real comfort, along with your knowledge and understanding of varying methods of support to help guide me through my healing process. You were always eager to collaborate and work with me to shape my therapy into something that would work for me. The strategies for support I have learnt through our sessions are now things I use in my day-to-day life and will definitely take forward in the future. I feel so much more confident and able to tackle obstacles that come my way and I owe that to our time together." (Alex 2023)
