23rd Annual BACP Counselling and Psychotherapy Research Conference, May 2017

‘Research and reflective practice for the Counselling Professions’

WORKSHOP PRESENTATIONS

The length of each workshop is 60 minutes. Workshops are designed to enable extended participation in and discussion of the research theme(s) to be presented and discussed.  Workshops must be research based and need to engage the audience using appropriate educational methods (eg, discussion groups, demonstrations etc).  It should be about a research method or aspect of conducting research (ie, about the process of doing research). Please note: workshops may not to be used for an extended paper presentation. It needs to have an element of audience interaction as an integral part (ie not just questions and answers). Workshops often have a "How to do..." type feel to them.

The abstracts topic should be relevant to the audience and to the conference theme. Workshops should adequately consider counselling and psychotherapy research and its relevance to practice. The aims of the workshop should be clear and the workshop should include audience participation and/or experiential structured activities.

Each workshop will take a different emphasis, but there are set headings to follow for the body of the abstract; please include these headings in your abstract:

  • Five keywords
  • Title
  • Relevance of the workshop to counselling and psychotherapy research
  • The aims of the workshop
  • How the workshop will be structured
  • Key points for discussion
  • Who will benefit from attending the workshop
