Whatever the reason you are looking for therapy, I will be by your side to help. It could be your first time, or maybe you have previous experience and are seeking help again, I appreciate talking to a stranger about personal issues can be scary and daunting thing. I work with a wide variety of issues including work stress, grief, anxiety, anger issues, trauma, gender, sexuality, sex, loneliness or domestic abuse, OCD. I hold a non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings freely and openly, finding coping strategies for positive changes in your life.
Practice description
I am an effective therapist who is positive and nurturing, I use humour and the occasional gentle challenge to create a trusting relationship where you can experience feeling heard, supported and cared for. During my Masters training I researched and evidenced successful strategies which have successfully allow clients to find perspective and clarity, and the ability to choose the best course action for themselves. As an Integrative therapist, meaning I have different models to work from, enables me to tailor sessions suit you, whether using actively listening, solution focused work, using CBT, Mindfulness and relaxation techniques, or working with the Inner Child, we can work together and find the right approach for you. Using Neuroscience and psychoeducation also can help you make sense of how you feel about you, your relationships, your past or your present.
Learning about yourself, finding practical strategies to evidence change and achievements during therapy can empower you discover self-awareness and insight into your thoughts and behaviours.
I am passionate about providing quality therapy and was quoted in the Financial Times and was part of a C4 documentary highlighting the negative impact of unprofessional therapy.
I additionally trained in Mindfulness, Loss & Bereavement, Working with Muslim Clients, Motivational Interviewing. I have experience of working within the Mental health charity Mind, Cancer charity CISS, Morriston Hospital and currently volunteer for LGBTQ Cymru Helpline. I am also an EAP/Wellbeing Counsellor.
