Availability

I have some availability for weekday and evening sessions.  I currently do not have any weekend spaces.

About me and my therapy practice

I work both short and long term - with groups, couples and individuals. I work with adults and children, providing a safe space to learn, develop and heal. My areas of speciality include personal growth and transformation, LGBTQ+ issues, help with anxiety, stress and trauma. I am available for daytime, evening and some weekend sessions.

I offer an initial session at a reduced rate and at this stage you can decide if you would like the work to continue. If I am working with a child I will also meet with their parents/carers before and after the sessions. Together we will decide how many sessions you might like and how often (weekly, monthly etc); if you would prefer to work in person, on the phone or via video. Some people choose to use Art as a way to help express themselves. The non-verbal communication and visual processes within Art Therapy can be very helpful, especially when exploring more complex feelings, but it is not something you have to use.

Practice description

People call me Rachel or Ray. I am registered with the HCPC and a BACP registered Psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. I have over ten years of experience working with children and adults. I mostly provide one to one therapy and supervision sessions but I also have experience working with couples as well as setting up, leading and facilitating group work. I am a practicing artist and am trained in Art Psychotherapy but much of my work now is talking therapy. Since the pandemic I have been providing sessions online and over the phone, as well as face to face sessions.

My first session

An initial session provides both you and I an opportunity to see if we could work well together. I will not ask you to complete any written assessments but I will ask a number of different questions to help me get to know you and to see what direction we might take if you decide you would like the sessions to continue. There is no pressure to commit in that meeting if you would like more - you can take your time and contact me again afterwards.
