Availability
I work on Tuesday afternoons and evening, Wednesday morning, and all day Thursday.
I do have some availability at the moment and would welcome having a free 15-20 minute initial consultation over the telephone with you.
Sessions are 50 minutes and are typically on a regular weekly or fortnightly basis. However, I understand that if you work irregular hours this may not be possible, and I will look to accommodate you where possible.
About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Kirsty, and I am a counsellor who works both online, and face to face with adults and young people in my Tewkesbury town centre practice on a one to one basis.
As a trauma informed practitioner, I understand that your life experiences may have left you with scars that haven't fully healed, and still cause you pain today. I am trained to help you heal from this trauma, and live a fuller, more satisfying life.
I will work with you to understand what you are experiencing today without judgement, blame or shame. My goal is to help you rediscover your unique strengths, inherent value, and a renewed sense of well-being through compassion and understanding. In turn helping you to feel better about your self, and where you have found yourself.
Together we will explore your unique story and build the self-assurance and inner resilience you deserve. I believe that through kindness and understanding, we can gently address negative self-beliefs, overcome self-doubt, and nurture the belief in your own potential, helping you to lead a more fulfilled life.
I am fully qualified, and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), a respected professional body that upholds clear ethical and professional standards.
I have completed additional training in online and telephone counselling, enabling me to offer a safe and professional virtual space for you if you would prefer that, or are out of the local area.
I hope we can work together, and will always respond to your enquiry. If you do not hear from me, please check your spam.
Practice description
I offer both face to face and online sessions from my Tewkesbury town centre practice which has a comfortable and private waiting area.
There is an accessible counselling room on the ground floor, which means I can offer face to face sessions to those with limited mobility.
My first session
I offer a free 15 -20 minute phone call where we can talk about what is going on for you just now, what you are looking to achieve in therapy and it gives us a chance to get to know each a bit better.
If you have any questions about how I work or what you might expect therapy with me to be like, just ask. I know how important it is to find the right counsellor for YOU.
After this call, if you are happy to proceed, I will email you an assessment form for you to complete and return before our first session. I will also include a copy of our working agreement for you to have a look at, but we will go through it together at the first session so you stop and ask me any questions you might have.
