We’re committed to ensuring our events offer an inclusive space for all delegates to join and access the content without barriers.  

We’ve outlined the services we provide as standard when joining one of our events. 

Online events

For our online events, we include key information in the joining instructions and on the booking web page to describe the following:

  • duration of the event
  • duration of the on-demand service
  • provision of subtitles, transcripts and BSL (BSL is provided on request for the on-demand service)
  • details of the programme and speaker
  • how to join the event

We also commit to ensuring that:

  • a verbal description of what presenters are wearing, the setting and the context of the event is available for all event participants  
  • that closed captions are supplied  
  • that alt text is provided when any thumbnail image is used in the on-demand service web pages
  • that the livestream player size can be adjusted to full screen
  • handouts and further resource information will be provided if available
  • our livestream player and event platform are screen reader-compatible

In-person events

For our in-person events, we include key information in the joining instructions and/or on the booking web page to describe:

  • location of the venue and the nearest travel connections
  • the duration of the event
  • the number of steps into the venue
  • information about accessible toilets and where to find them
  • where the lift is located
  • the provision of subtitles, transcripts and BSL (on request), hearing loops 
  • details about the availability of the on-demand service for any recorded presentations

We also commit to ensuring that:

  • our use venues are Equality Act 2010 compliant 
  • temperature can be controlled, and the lighting adjusted in the rooms
  • a quiet space and/or prayer room is available at our events
  • there are breaks during the event for self-care and comfort
  • where available floor plans are signposted from our joining instructions and/or in the events app (for hybrid events)
  • ​dietary requirements are catered for 
  • our on-demand service is available for you to re-visit our content at a time convenient to you if you’ve missed a presentation or would like to view presentations again
  • we give a verbal description of our presenters, and the setting and describe any relevant visual cues for the event
  • we've updated our booking form with a free text box to ask if you have any requirements to support your attendance at our events
  • we reserve seats at the front or back of our conference room during a live event if that's your preference
  • our handouts are provided in alternative colours and sizes on request
  • we provide a quiet stream viewing room away from the main room to view content in a quiet and less busy space (venue dependent)
