About me and my therapy practice
My expertise is in helping people who are overly anxious or stressed, and helping anyone with relationship difficulties. If you want to reduce your levels of anxiety, or improve a relationship (with a loved one, friend, colleague or family member) then please get in touch. My experience as a Humanistic counsellor has taught me that we may already have the tools to help ourselves through painful experiences, and that to do so may mean re-discovering different parts of ourselves, or compassionately investigating other perspectives. I can help you navigate this process by bringing awareness to and exploring these aspects of yourself, and deepening your own self-compassion.
Currently I am working exclusively online via video. Online therapy has shown to be as effective as face-to-face therapy and can be more convenient.
I currently see adults (18 and over) and normally suggest that we meet at the same time every week for as long as you'd like. We can agree a number from the outset (e.g. 6-8 sessions) or keep things more open ended. Either way I normally ask every few sessions how you feel we're progressing.
My first session
Most of us need support at some point in our lives to help navigate difficult paths. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious or struggling with a particular relationship then it’s important to find someone you trust to help you. Research has shown that the relationship with your counsellor is crucial to helping you feel better, which is why I offer a free consultation to see if I’m the right counsellor for you. It’s an opportunity to explain why you’re seeking therapy, what you’d like to get from it, if you have an idea of how many sessions you'd like, and to ask me any questions about how I work.
