I offer 50 minute online and in-person counselling sessions through my private practice in Central London and London Bridge.

About me and my therapy practice

hold a BACP accredited Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I work within the BACP ethical framework, am fully insured and have regular supervision.

I offer a confidential and non-judgemental space in which whatever thoughts, feelings or experiences you bring can be explored together in a way that is down to earth, enquiring and compassionate. I work at a pace and with a therapeutic style suited to your needs, with the aim of deepening your inner resources, relieving psychological and emotional distress and helping you to gain more clarity.

My specialist areas of interest are relationship difficulties (including those with self) and underlying issues relating to addiction, alcoholism and addictive behaviours.

I am a sex positive counsellor. I am supportive  and understanding of LGBTIQ+ individuals.

I offer both short and long term counselling.

Practice description

In addition to private practice, I have worked as a school counsellor supporting young people, as well as seeing adult clients in a counselling agency.

Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked for many years as a teacher, trainer and consultant in various educational settings for young people excluded from education.

I have lived experience of supporting survivors of sexual exploitation and violence. For many years I have worked alongside individuals in 12 Step programmes recovering from addiction, alcoholism and addictive behaviours.

I am a qualified yoga teacher and have studied mindfulness and meditation.

Aspects of lessons learnt and experiences lived in my various professional realms over the last 20 years, serve to better inform me in my therapeutic work.

My first session

Prior to our first session, I offer a brief free telephone consultation during which time we can both get an initial idea of what you are seeking from counselling, it also allows us a chance to discuss logistical matters.  If you wish to continue further at this point, we can arrange an initial appointment.

Our initial session has an assessment style. I will ask  brief questions about your history in order to understand what brings you to therapy at this point. We will explore together what it is that you want and desire from our work together.

This session will give you a sense of how I work, you can ask me any questions you may have with regards to counselling. It will allow us both to decide whether working together is something that could be beneficial to you.
