About me and my therapy practice
Are you finding things difficult at the moment? Do you feel it’s time to focus on you?
I understand that it’s not always easy to reach out for support or describe exactly what it is that you need. You’ve come to the right place and I’m here for you.
Life can sometimes become complex and challenging. We can struggle to process difficult life events or move on from traumatic experiences in our past. Counselling can give you the opportunity to be truly heard and can help you to begin to move on. Understanding difficult feelings and why we respond the way we do can lead to a better understanding of ourselves. This can help you to develop coping strategies and lead to personal growth and acceptance. Helping you to improve relationships and self-esteem. Leaving you feeling more confident and able to move forward with life.
I’m Jo, I am friendly, open and honest. I am experienced in helping clients build resilience and develop coping strategies to deal with life’s challenges. I offer a calm and compassionate space away from the interruptions of daily life. Somewhere you can truly focus on you. I am a caring, warm person and I listen without judgement.
I am qualified in Person Centred Theory, CBT and Transactional Analysis. I have additional training in working with Trauma and PTSD. This means I can use different strategies tailored to your specific needs.
My first session
Counselling sessions will take place in a safe, private space in my home. There is parking available and I am a short walk from public transport services.
Sessions will last 50 minutes and we will work together to explore what is going on for you.
This is your space and I will work at your pace. Helping you towards your goals. I firmly believe that everyone has the ability to develop towards their potential.
I will value you and your story and work to understand it from your perspective.
Opening up and talking about difficult feelings isn’t easy. It’s important that you feel comfortable working with me. Please contact me to arrange an initial consultation so you can get a feel for how we can work together.
