About me and my therapy practice
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), offering both short- and long-term therapy which provides a space to explore the anxieties, thoughts, relationships, fantasies, dreams, and experiences which are significant to you. I have over five years clinical experience and continue my professional development in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with the Guild of Psychotherapists in London.
You may feel unsure what kind of therapy is suitable for what you are seeking at this point in your life. I practice psychoanalytic psychotherapy which seeks to provide a deep exploration of your experience in the world, with a belief that not all of our thoughts and behaviour are conscious and rational. It offers an encounter with ourselves through which we might discover new perspectives. It invites you to speak freely and honestly about your life’s journey so far as well as what occupies your thoughts today. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy will not give you tools or advice, but will offer you a dialogue through which to explore the parts of yourself which may be hidden, troubling or confusing.
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is typically long-term and open-ended, with 50 minute sessions taking place at least once a week. I am also able to offer shorter-term work.
I adhere to the BACP’s Code of Ethics, which includes standards on confidentiality, supervision, complaints and continuing professional development (CPD).
I work from rooms at 10 Southgate Street in central Winchester.
