About me and my therapy practice
I am a BPC & BACP registered Psychotherapist with experience in open ended and short-term work. I also work within the NHS as a Speech & Language Therapist and have many years experience working with adults with communication disorders. However I work with a range of issues which might bring you to therapy and with people from diverse backgrounds.
The decision to start therapy can be daunting and you may wish to 'phone or email me your questions before arranging an initial consultation.
The initial consultation allows for careful consideration of whether psychotherapy is the best way forward for you at this time and also whether you want to work with me. It is important that you feel you can talk to me. Being listened to by a thoughtful and curious therapist can be a profoundly therapeutic experience.
Time-limited counselling is when weekly sessions are arranged for an agreed time period; this can be very helpful where there is a clear focus to the work or something that has happened more recently is causing pain or difficulty.
In Open-ended work an end date to therapy is set later on and usually after discussion together. Open-ended work is usually beneficial where the issues are more long standing or multifactorial; it allows time for trust and an increase in self awareness to develop.
My room is situated within a clinic with other health professionals and is located in Bedford town centre.
