About me and my therapy practice
Thank you for reading my profile, I hope I maybe able to help.
There are many ways in which Counselling & Psychotherapy can help, this will depend on what you are aiming for & on the building of a trusting relationship. Many people find that a confidential space to talk through difficult issues helps them make sense of the past & to disentangle it from the present.
Therapy can also help manage difficult situations, change problematic behaviours, develop self-awareness & personal understanding.
I am trained in Contempory Psychodynamic practice but believe that building a trusting and appropriate working relationship is key, I can use various approaches which I can discuss with you.
I have been a qualified Counsellor for 14 years. I trained at the University of Leicester and have worked for a university counselling service, in the voluntary sector and privately doing both long and short term work. I have also worked for many years in community education specifically with young people.
I have extensive experience of a wide range of issues including early childhood trauma, bereavement, sexual and physical abuse, sexual orientation, depression, anxiety, self harm, anger.
I can also help with work related stress and anxiety, men’s issues and the difficulties of later life and retirement.
I offer 50 minute online sessions using either Zoom or WhatsApp currently on Monday evenings between 5pm and 7.30pm.
I have a lot of experience of online working and have found it to be a very useful way to work both therapeutically and practically.
I am very happy to discuss options with you and believe that building a trusting and appropriate working relationship is key to getting positive outcomes.
Payment is via bank transfer.
My first session
I offer an initial free 30 minute meeting during which we can explore what help I can offer you and for you to see if you feel comfortable working with me.
If you send me either a mobile number or email address I will contact you 5 minutes before the time we have agreed to talk to check if you are ready, I will then contact you via Zoom or WhatsApp to begin our session.
If you decide to work with me I will email you an information sheet giving details my terms of business, details of confidentiality, and how I manage your data to meet GDPR requirements.
