About me and my therapy practice

The GARDEN HAVEN Haven offers a serene, nature infused counselling experience designed for children, young people and adults, particularly those with neuro divergent brains and/or behavioural issues i.e.

  • Anxiety
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Struggling to concentrate
  • Socially awkward
  • Repetitive behaviours
  • Sensory sensitivity
  • Self harm

My focus is on understanding, acceptance, and strength. Rather than trying to change who my clients are, my counselling support supports them to better understand themselves and feel more comfortable in the world around them.

I work in a Yurt in our large, leafy garden, which provides a a unique welcoming atmosphere where my clients can freely express themselves at their own pace and feel valued without fear of judgement.

I am proud to offer a safe space where my clients can choose to either talk, think, create, play, bake, garden or just simply be either inside the yard or outside in the garden, as the power of nature alone can be healing.

Everyone person’s brain works different differently, so my counselling is shaped around my client’s individual needs. They will never be a pressure to communicate in one ‘right’ way.

Practice description

Counselling Services

I provide a range of counselling services, tailored to support emotional well-being, including individual sessions, workshops & working with Parents in support of their children.

Whatever the method of support our clients choose, I tend to work with our clients to achieve :-

  • Emotional understanding
    • During sessions, I encourage clients to explore their feelings and reactions, fostering a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences. This approach empowers individuals to feel more confident and positive about who they are.
  • Coping strategies
    • I can work collaboratively with my clients to develop effective coping strategies to help manage worries, big feelings and overwhelming emotions. Together we can design individual tools that work for each client to help them navigate life’s challenges.
  • Navigating relationships
    • I can gently guide clients in navigating their relationships, whether they be friendships, family dynamics or school/work interactions fostering healthy connections and effective communication.
  • Creative expression
    • In our relaxed environment, clients can engage in creative activities (which can include painting, arts and crafts, sandwork, baking etc etc.) that allow them to express their emotions and thoughts in comfortable and natural ways, promoting self discovery and healing.
Good Mental Health Workshops - Helping young minds to grow Stronger

The children’s well-being workshops are fun, interactive sessions designed to help children understand emotions, build confidence, develop resilience and learn healthy ways to manage worries and big feelings. Through age appropriate pursuits (e.g. FreePlay group games, creative activities, mindfulness exercise exercises, strolls in the countryside, etc) children will develop important emotional well-being skills in a safe & supportive environment with NO phones and NO tech.

The sessions are in the school holidays from 10am to 3pm. The combine, outdoors/nature, play & therapeutic skills

My first session

I offer ‘Getting acquainted sessions’ with either my client or the  parents of my client before we start our sessions. I find these sessions are both useful to me & my clients as it usually allows a better understanding of the clients needs & wishes. I offer either 25 minute sessions for £35 OR 50 minute sessions for £65. These can either be in person or on-line. I find it tends to help set our expectations.
