AvailabilityDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, I am offering sessions online or by phone while meeting in person is not possible or uncomfortable for you. I am also offering face to face sessions.
I am available for an initial session (often by video call), which gives us a chance to see if we would like to work together and for you to ask any questions you may have. The session will explore your current circumstances and some details of your history. We can use our time together for you to share what is going on in your life, and what brings you to seek counselling.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer counselling for individuals and couples. Helping and supporting you through difficult times and working through any issues.
I am warm and empathic, and understanding and open towards others. With my varied experiences of work and travel, I have met a range of people from different heritages, which has helped me be a better and broader-minded Counsellor.
I offer you a safe, confidential space where you can explore those difficult moments in your life. I am there to help you navigate through your difficult experiences, hurts and distresses, or other moments you need to share with someone. I will provide you with the necessary conditions to help you navigate through your difficult experiences. My work as a Counsellor reflects three core beliefs:
1. Being genuine, so you can successfully explore the issues that have brought you to seek help and find your way through them.
2. Being accepting, caring and empathic, giving you the opportunity to increase your self-understanding and manage your life in a more constructive, satisfying, and healthy way.
3. Providing a non-judgmental and safe place to share your experiences as we work together to explore your actions, thoughts, and feelings.
Our life experiences shape us in unique and particular ways and opening up what has been difficult for us requires kindness and compassion from ourselves and others if we are to heal and grow. While it may take time, it is in the here and now that we learn to work with the difficulties of our lives, and that is where healing happens.
Together, we will explore your current feelings and circumstances and you can start to bring about changes in your life, and your relationships with yourself and others.
I hold the same person-centred values when working with and supporting you as a couple as I do with individuals. Being in a relationship can be very challenging at times, and you have the ability to solve relationship problems together and get through difficulties, given the right support and help. In the work, we will explore what is working and what isn’t working between you and your partner, encouraging you to recognise your own needs and being able to express these in a way that is helpful, so that you can bring stability and joy into your relationship.
My practice with couples, centers around open exploration and sensitivity through Imago Relationship Therapy, developed by Dr. Harville Hendrix and Dr. Helen LaKelly Hunt. This is a form of relationship and couples therapy that focuses on transforming conflict into healing and growth through relational connection and communication. My professional training in the Imago approach allows me to use it as the framework for working with you as a couple. It is an interactive process that uses dialogues which focus on allowing you to understand each other’s feelings on a more empathic level. It also helps you to consciously understand your relationship and move on from where you feel stuck, towards healing and renewal.
