About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist who incorporates psychodynamic, psychoanalytic and relational theory and techniques in the therapeutic session.
My qualifications include: B.Sc (Hons) in Applied Psychology; PGDip in Psychoanalytic observational studies; MA in Counselling (Psychodynamic).
I have a special interest in social class and social mobility.
I am currently working via zoom and am available to work with people from all areas of the UK. Clients located in London may be offered the choice of face-to-face sessions in the future.
I offer concessionary rates based on salary when possible - please note, lower-fee places are limited and may not be available.
One of the most important aspects of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist, and both parties should feel a connection. This way, trust and respect will mutually exist within the therapy room, encouraging open communication and understanding.
Psychodynamic therapy is a longterm process with clients often attending for many months or years. Each client is unique, but in general psychodynamic therapy involves us examining your past and present relationships, life events - including traumatic events, imagined future scenarios, hopes and fears, dreams and bodily sensations. We will also be interested in repeated behaviours, and whether they are considered helpful or unhelpful.
My first session
All first sessions are carried out via zoom (I will email you a link) and will last for 50 minutes. I do not charge a fee for this first consultation.
During the consultation I will gather information about past and present events, relationships and behaviours. It is usual for me to make written notes during the consultation.
Afterwards, if applicable and agreed in advance, I will contact you to explore the option of our working together.
