About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited counsellor with 15 years experience working with Samaritans, Cruse, a hospice, private practice and co-delivering courses on Anger Management and Stress. As a course tutor in FE, I also supported teenagers with stressful life situations and helped them in their personal development. I work with individuals and couples using a humanistic, integrative approach which incorporates a person-centred core.
I will work alongside you to find resolutions to your issues in a warm, safe and empathic environment. If the work appears to be longer than six sessions, I will invite you to review our progress on a regular basis to assess where we are, where we want to be and what we need to address to reach our target goal.
My fee can be negotiable if you are a trainee counsellor or experiencing financial difficulties.
My counselling room is within a short distance of the main shopping area and there is ample parking.
I offer telephone and video (Zoom, WhatsApp, Facetime or Teams) counselling only at the moment but will also offer face-to-face sessions again once the virus situation allows.
My session times can be flexible to fit around a client's work pattern.
My first session
During the first session, I will hope to assess your needs and feel assured that I can help you and we can work together.
At the end of the session, I will ask if you feel safe and confident to work with me and, if so, will offer you a working agreement explaining what I will offer and what, in turn, I would expect from you.
