About me and my therapy practice
Hello my name is Sara, I provide therapy Online, In person, or over the Telephone.
I know that making the first step in asking for help can often be the hardest and I want you to know that I provide a safe and caring space to gain the help you need.
I have been working in the counselling field for 12 years now, for various settings including the NHS, private healthcare and community charities.
For the last 8 years I have run a bespoke private practice which developed into Springfield Therapy Practice.
My aim is to provide a counselling service that promotes a warm loving environment by which clients can find themselves and the joy of life again.
I feel that counselling in today’s world is more important than ever.
Modern day living is leading many people to feel highly anxious, often dealing with heightened levels of stress due to the work and/or home environments.
Often pre-existing mental health difficulties such as Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Addiction, PTSD, and many more are then becoming unmanageable for people.
It is clear that People are not getting the emotional support they need after they pr their child receives a diagnosis of Autism and/or ADHD, leaving them feeling a sense of relief to have answers but confusion around how or what this means going forward.
The current strain on the NHS means often people can not get the support they need when they are asking for it.
Private therapy is able to provide that support you or your loved one is looking for now.
Specialising in Addiction Counselling I am also very aware that private therapy can support those who are using addiction as a coping strategy to try and deal with the pressures of life and/or past trauma.
Addiction Counselling can also support those who are already in recovery but are feeling they wish to understand themselves further outside of the context of recovery.
The counselling session belongs to you and I look forward to helping you on your journey.

My first session
I am offer a FREE initial introductory session that lasts for 30 to 50 minutes, this session allowing us to get to know each other, and explore how counselling will help you.
During this session, I will ask you to share with me what has brought you to counselling, I will ask a number of exploratory questions (such as "how does this affect your day to day living" or "how much time do you spend on social media per day") these questions will allow me to gain a clearer picture of who you are and the factors that are impacting your mental health at this current point.
I will also discuss with you in more depth how I work and the training I have undertaken.
I will also make clear the confidentiality policy and ethical framework which I abide by in practice.
Should you then feel that I am the right fit for you as a therapist I will send you a therapy contract to read through and complete before the next agreed session.
I offer either time-limited therapy (6-12 sessions) or open-ended therapy where we will review the process periodically to ensure you are getting the most from our time together.
