About me and my therapy practice
I'm Jo, an integrative therapist, which means I support you using a blend of modern therapeutic and more traditional approaches.
I provide a welcoming, safe space to explore personal difficulties and navigate life’s transitions.
My qualification is a four-year BACP accredited Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the Minster Centre in London, one of the most respected therapy training institutions in the UK.
I also have a BA Hons in Psychology.
As well as running a private practice, I am a counsellor at a reduced fee therapy service in central London, and the regular podcast host for the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health’s ‘In Conversation’ series, where I meet leading mental health experts to learn about their clinical work and the latest in evidence-based research.
I have also worked as a volunteer counsellor for Mind.
I work according to the BACP's Ethical Framework.
Practice description
I offer therapy from a beautiful, calming consulting room in north London, or you can see me online.
You may have a specific problem you need help with or hope to become less overwhelmed in the face of challenge, uncertainty or change.
Often, anxiety is the starting point for therapy, be it worries around relationships, work, low self-esteem, identity issues, or a sense of not feeling at home in the world.
For others, it is not so much feeling too much as feeling too little, and therapy provides a chance to explore how this might change.
I work with adults on both a short-term and open-ended basis.
Adults of all ages, backgrounds, cultures, sexuality and gender identity are welcome.
Sessions are weekly and each lasts 50 minutes.
My first session
You won’t know if I am the right fit for you until we meet, which we can do either virtually or in person.
The first session is a chance to discuss why you are seeking therapy and to see if I feel right for you. I will not take notes at the first session and there is no obligation to return.
The initial consultation is discounted at £50 and lasts 50 minutes.
