About me and my therapy practice

I work in an integrative way meaning I use different skills from different models of counselling to put you the client in control and we focus on what you want to get from the sessions.

I am also a qualified couples and relationship counsellor, I can help you re-establish a good connection with you partner if you are having issues that you are struggling with. Relationships are often not our partners but family or friends and I can also help you if you are having difficulty in these areas of your life.

As your counsellor I will listen to what you say in each session and help you to decide what you want to do without judgement or offering my opinions in any way. This is your time for you.

I continually enhance my formal training with courses and further research to improve my skills and knowledge and therefore make me a better counsellor.

I am a trained Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) and also A Suicide First Aider (ASIST) too.

Practice description

I work with a wide range of issues but I have a history of working with adults who have suffered childhood sexual abuse and the trauma they now suffer with as adults due to that abuse. I help them to deal with the issues and move on with their lives as they see themselves as survivors rather than victims.

I am experienced in working with ADHD and understand how this affect the person and the family around them, weather its a historical or recent diagnosis.

I am huge supporter of mental health organisations and the work they do to help the people from different communities. My goal is to be able to help as many people as possible with their various difficulties. Along with that, I am extremely passionate about helping the most vulnerable people who feel there may be no where else to go. Due to personal experience, suicide prevention and helping families and friends of those bereaved from suicide is something I hold close to my heart.

My first session

I offer a free 20 minute chat at a mutually convenient time to see how you feel about working with me and also to see if I can help you as I will always admit if I have no experience in the issues you raise.
