About me and my therapy practice
I trained in counselling at The University of Edinburgh where I came to appreciate many of the challenges faced in understanding and accepting ourselves and where I came to recognise the value of talking to a therapist who listens empathically and who can offer insight without judgement. I provide a safe, welcoming and confidential space in which to explore the many aspects of your uniquely individual concerns and use my own creativity to tune in to your needs, supporting you in telling your own story in whatever way feels right for you.
I currently work face-to-face with adults in Edinburgh and East Lothian, offering 50 minute sessions on a weekly basis, both on-line and in a traditional counselling room setting. I also work outdoors if desired and/or appropriate.
My first session
I offer an initial first session where we talk about your needs and the way forward and decide together if counselling with me feels right for you. This is a 50 minute session and in part offers you a sense of what a session with me might feel like. I have some standard questions that I ask you and try to offer roughly half the time for you to tell me more freely what it is that brings you to counselling.
