About me and my therapy practice
We all struggle with life at times. Situations and people can challenge us and the feeling of being alone or not knowing where to turn can be overwhelming. I will listen and be beside you as together we explore your world and look at the challenges you are facing. I will help you lift the heavy weight that is keeping you from loving life.
I am a fully qualified and experienced Counsellor/Psychotherapist, and a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I work mainly with Adults, Teenagers and Couples.
I have experienced working with the Charity, Catalyst, providing support for those with addiction and mental health struggles including depression and anxiety. As the assigned counsellor for a residential youth project I supported young people with a history of addictions and family difficulties. Volunteering for the Samaritans provided a unique insight into the real struggles that life can bring to us all.
To be able to meet the needs of those suffering with the debilitating symptoms of PTSD and trauma I qualified to practice Rewind Therapy.
This experience I was able to take to my private practice, where I have now established a busy and fulfilling client list.
I am a Humanistic Therapist, and I believe that each person is unique so therapy is adapted to meet each persons individual needs. This also allows for therapy to be long or short term depending on requirements, and this we will review together.
Rewind Therapy requires one session and one follow up session only. It helps process traumatic experiences without the need to disclose any details. My experience has been that most clients have substantial relief from the traumatic symptoms, with the majority being left without any impact from the event.
My first session
I believe it is important to find the right therapist for you so I offer a free therapy consultation where you can find out how therapy may work for you, and whether you would be happy for us to work together. This can be in person or by phone.
I have found it imperative to return to face to face sessions as privacy for some clients was proving difficult, so with guidance regarding Social Distancing and Workplace working I am now able to safely offer face to face sessions.
