About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP registered Counsellor with a postgraduate diploma in existential psychotherapy and counselling.
I have over 7 years experience of working with clients both online and face-to-face. In recent years, I have worked for specialist charities where I offered counsellling sessions to adults who were affected by anxiety, depression, bereavement, grief and loss.
In 2022 I attended a BICA (British Infertility Counselling Association) foundation course and have experience working with female clients with concerns around fertility and pregnancy.
I offer a safe, calm and non-judgemental space for you to explore your feelings and thoughts at your own pace. I recognise that the process of counselling may be unfamiliar to you, and I endeavour to create a therapeutic space where you feel both comfortable and relaxed.
Practice description
My aim is to provide my clients with an open and safe environment where their thoughts and feelings can be shared without any fear of judgment. I endeavour to help my clients, who may feel that they have lost their way, to find meaning and purpose in their lives through a process of gentle exploration. I actively encourage my clients to use their capacity to make choices and to develop their lives, as a way of becoming more fulfilled and authentic in their everyday existence.
One of the primary aims of existential therapy is to help people face the anxieties of life and to embrace the freedom of choice humans have, taking full responsibility for these choices as they do so. Existential therapists look to help individuals live more authentically and to be less concerned with superficiality. They also encourage clients to take ownership of their lives, to find meaning and to live fully in the present.
I recognise that the decision to begin personal therapy is an important step and takes courage. We can take things one step at a time and at your own pace. The sessions are yours, and we will work with what you decide to bring on that day to that session.
