** Update July 2021 - Therapy during Covid 19

In addition to my usual information below, I have adapted my practise to provide online, or telephone counselling to existing and new clients and supervisees. I have training in this area and am comfortable with the process. If you would like to enquire more about how this might work for you, feel welcome to contact me through this site.

Sessions are held in much the same way, on a prescheduled day and time for the therapeutic hour of 50 minutes or as appropriate for children. **

About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to my BACP profile. I am a BACP senior accredited and UKCP registered integrative psychotherapist.  I work from a humanistic integrative approach, and this provides a theoretical framework for me to work with you using a combination of therapeutic approaches best suited to individual requirements and the issues that you would like to work through. I work confidently and in an empathic, gentle yet focused manner in both long and short term work.

I have worked in mental health and care services for over 20 years, qualifying as an Integrative Counsellor in 2004 and worked as a counselling services manager for a hospice for 12 years before undertaking an MA in child adolescent and family therapy.

I am experienced in working with clients from ages 5-95, on a wide variety and depth of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship amd employment issues, mental health, physical wellbeing, school refusal, bereavement, loss, spirituality, and working through life transitions to support clients to develop a sense of Self and meaning.

I work within the BACP and UKCP  ethical frameworks from a professional office in Hemel Hempstead with good parking facilities.

Practice description

Having recently completed an MA in child, adolescent and family psychotherapy, I am currently employed as a CAMHS practitioner, having spent 12 years managing the counselling service for a local hospice.

My work as a supervisor is to provide you with a safe, non judgemental, compassionate and empathic space in which you feel you can bring your Self and your clinical work, and to  utilise the interpersonal relationship alongside theoretical models to ensure you feel supported both personally amd practically.

I have a strong knowledge base of safeguarding and crisis procedures, and 12 years experience as a clinical supervisor of groups and individuals from many backgrounds.

My first session

During our first supervision session you may like to bring examples of client work to experience how we would work together.

It is important to me to get to know you as a person amd practitioner, and I begin sessions with a 'check in' to see how you are.

We can then identify what you need from each session as we go along.

I am experienced in completing college and university placement supervision paperwork and supporting students through study courses and through accreditation.
