About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome to my page, my name is Tom, founder of New Horizon Counselling. I am a qualified and experienced Therapist providing Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have been working in private practice since October 2018. I provide a variety of Counselling services in to help you with mental health. I embrace difference and diversity and specialise in working with clients from the LGBTQ+ community.

I Integrate several therapeutic theories and techniques to offer a bespoke service tailoring my approach to you and your needs. I can support you with common life problems, such as anxiety, depression, stress and life changes. Additionally, I work with relationships, core beliefs and self-worth.

I am here to support you, whoever you are, no matter what you are going through. Seeking Counselling can be daunting however, it can often be the first step to feeling more like yourself. If you would like to arrange a free no obligation phone call please get in touch.

Our work together will be strictly confidential, giving you the confidence to know you can share what’s on your mind and that your thoughts will stay with me. I am easy to talk to and have a relaxed, yet professional Counselling approach. The focus is on you, I am not here to make any judgements.

Practice description

How does it work?

When you get in touch I will speak with you to find out what support you may be looking for and to arrange an initial session / assessment. This will give you the chance to discuss more about what's going on for you, find out more about me and how I work and get a feel for if I am the right Therapist for you.

Sessions last 50 minutes and are on a weekly basis at the same time on the same day. I am unable to offer fortnightly sessions due to availability.

My first session

The first session is a mix of an initial session with an assessment. In this session you will have the time to speak more about what’s going on for you and the reasons for seeking Therapy. You may also have some goals you wish to work towards that we can explore. There will be a few questions I will ask, and you will hopefully get a feel for how you find working with me.

Towards the end of the session, you can then decide if I'm the right Therapist for you and what you would like to do with sessions going forward.
